about
Just in time for the holidays: We are releasing our new single Christmas Day 2016 from the upcoming "Real Eyes" album. The song is "Same Sad Song" and it is a ballad that features verse, chorus, 2 seperate bridges and 3, 4 and sometimes 5 part harmonies written by Dee as a nod to the songwriting style of Robert Hunter and The Grateful Dead. I wrote it during all the Dead50 hoopla and then we went and laid it down. Curt Caudill from Bogart Jones Band is featured on keys. We have been working with long time friend of ours and studio guru Bob Mayo at K Street Studio in the town Dee grew up in Morton, IL. We have been taking our time with this release, so we have pushed the release date back until early 2017. We have lots of special guests including Ike Willis from Zappa. We Can't Wait to share it with you. Photo by Scott Owens Mapiya Photography Album artwork from Zachary Bohm at 8 Ohm Designs
lyrics
Verse
I've Been Watching , I don't think I received your letter
Was it supposed to make me feel better
You know it's funny how you always seem to be ok
Brightens up may day with the things that you say
Chorus
So I just keep moving along
I sing the same sad words from this old same sad song
You know I'd rather be with you
You know I'd rather do the things we do
Or that we've done
Verse
I see the sun coming up
right outside of my window
I'm still up , but where'd all my wind go
You know the crashing is always the hardest part for me
And when I wake up
and she's not lying next to me
